HAY, how art you? Ever since I received my first wax seal stamp as a gift, I’ve been experimenting with different ideas and methods to create unique wax seals. There is a rustic charm to the wax sealing process, especially watching the slow process of wax melting and seeing it harden again under a beautiful brass plate. Even though wax seals are already beautiful on their own, combining them with other materials can turn them into unique personalised creations. In this article, I’ll be sharing five unique and creative wax seal ideas. Keep reading to know more!

Creative Wax Seal Ideas – Supplies

Here is a list of supplies I used. Feel free to use any other supplies that you have on hand!

Wax Seal Ideas – 1. Adding Stickers or Paper

You’ve probably seen videos of dried leaves and flowers being added to hot wax before it is sealed. If you don’t have any dried plants lying around, a good alternative is adding stickers or printed paper to a blank wax seal. Stickers can be pasted on the wax seal directly, and you can use double-sided tape or glue tape to adhere papers to wax seals.

Wax Seal Ideas – 2. Adding Glitter

Glitter adds a nice shimmer to wax seals, and can be sprinkled on hot wax before stamping. If you find glitter powder a little messy, you can opt for larger glitter which comes in different shapes and colours.

Wax Seal Ideas – 3. Adding Ribbons

I really love the combination of wax seals and ribbons! Get creative and combine them in different ways to achieve different looks, depending on the shape and size of your wax seal stamp.

Wax Seal Ideas – 4. Wax Seal Earrings

My favourite idea in this article is creating wax seal earrings. Smaller wax seals are more suitable for this creation, but you can also use this method to make keychains, phone charms, or even necklaces from your wax seals.

To do this, use a sharp pin or needle to make a hole on the wax seals. Then, insert jump rings and earring hooks to finish the earrings. Ta-da! You now have a pair of wax seal earrings that are incredibly lightweight, and is probably the sole pair in the world. Remember to keep it away from extreme heat though!

Wax Seal Ideas – 5. Dual Colour Wax Seals

To make wax seals that have two colours, place a smaller completed wax seal flat on top of melted wax, and seal with a blank stamp. This is a super easy way to make dual-toned wax seals!
