Creative Journal Ideas #1: Magazine Style Letter Cutouts

The simplest way to use a thermal printer is to print letters to form a word or quote. The accompanying app that comes with your thermal printer should contain a variety of font styles to suit your aesthetic vibe.

For this journal spread, I printed out the Latin words “ad meliora” letter by letter, which translate to “towards better things”. I then cut the letters in an irregular manner to create a magazine-like page on the left. To complete the spread, I used stickers and recycled kraft papers to decorate. The definition of the phrase was also printed on orange thermal paper and then torn to create a scrapbook journal feel.

Bonus tip: Print white letters on a black background for that vintage ransom note look!

Scrapbook Journal Ideas #2: Poem on Transparent Paper

Scrapbook Journal Ideas #2: Poem on Transparent Paper

I came across transparent thermal papers for my thermal printer and was so excited to make some transparent stickers! The first idea that came to my mind was to print a poem and then layer it on scrapbooking papers. This MHN poem featured was found on Pinterest, and to match its theme, I tore and pasted woodgrain papers to emulate a mountainy landscape.

I kept the page on the left simple by pasting the same woodgrain papers below and stamping on tiny flying birds on top. As a finishing touch, I pasted gold glitter stars around the birds.

Scrapbook Journal Ideas #3: Art Gallery

I created a plant gallery spread previously so this time, I made an art gallery spread instead. First, I downloaded images of vintage frames from rawpixel and saved them to my phone. Then, I imported them into the printing app and printed them on transparent thermal printer. The rest is self-explanatory; I cut the artwork stickers to fit each frame and then layout them around the spread.

Bonus tip: Create a memory gallery featuring your favourite photos to make a personalised spread!
